They call it "lecture capture," but it lets learning go far beyond the classroom.

Using this new technology, professors can record the audio from a classroom lecture, pair it up with a PowerPoint presentation, and put it online. That gives students another way to review lessons before exams. Columbus State is Ohio's largest provider of distance learning classes, so our professors are getting lots of practice.

If your resolution was to shape up in the new year to create a new you -- Columbus State has lots of options for staff and students -- with most of them here in the Human Performance center in the lower level of Delaware Hall.

The Sport and Exercise Studies Department offers action-packed classes that'll burn calories. From total body conditioning to yoga -- even bowling -- they provide one hour of college credit. And it goes beyond classes -- they also offer individual one-on-one personal training outside of class time.

However, shaping up isn't limited personal training and credit-hour courses, so start the new year right with a new fitness regimen. Personal one-on-one training sessions are just three to five dollars each. And registration is just around the corner for spring quarter fitness classes that begin in late March

We're bringing high-quality, affordable education right to your doorstep.

Opening in Autumn 2010, Columbus State's Delaware Campus represents our commitment to our service area. The campus will offer four great degrees right off the bat. The Associate of Arts and Associate of Science degrees, which represent the first two years of a bachelor's degree. We're also offering standalone two-year degrees in Business and Computer Information Technology. Look for more great programs as the campus grows.

We're also offering a full slate of services, and we plan to offer community programs. With high-quality programs -- and tuition costs that are a third of a four-year state school -- we're looking forward to new service to the Delaware Community.
